The Client:

C.W. Driver is a General Contractor and Construction company that has been in business since 1919, and has offices nationwide. In California alone, they are  located in Los Angeles, Irvine, Ontario, and San Diego. This large company covers large projects in the industry including education, healthcare, entertainment, retail, industrial and government.

The Project:

Pierre Landscape Companies partnered with C.W. Driver on the creation of a new and innovative Performing Arts Center for the University. The plans for the new facility had to represent both  the vision of serenity for students during the day and the representation of vibrant energy at night.

Pierre workers installed over 224 box trees which varied in size, around the facility and in between two connecting buildings.  On campus, over 38 of the trees installed were Platanus Racemosa. The bright green leaves on the sycamore trees that transform into orange and reddish leaves in the fall provide a perfect welcome back to students returning from the summer.

Over 376  (15 gallon) various species of shrubs were also installed around the edges of the building, as well as over 13,000 sq ft of sod. Site furnishings including trash cans, and stay benches were also included on site.

The Result:

The new Performing Arts Center is home to many professional performances including Geena Davis, Bernadette Peters, and Barbara Cook.. Students congregate outside the facility before an event and enjoy the new benches installed, as well as the grassy shaded areas. The color dynamic of the trees and shrubs installed create a youthful and lively environment. The vision of the lights glistening through the glass walls and reflecting  off of the  side gardens between buildings make the view and event very memorable.
