Cal State L.A. has been a dynamic force in the education of students, setting a record of outstanding academic achievement for more than 50 years within the California State University system and beyond. Here, students, taught by nationally and internationally-recognized scholars in their fields, have gone on to become the nation's legislators, technicians, educators, artists, writers, engineers, healthcare providers, leaders in business and industry, entertainers, athletes and scientists.

The University had set out to update their Student Union Center and grounds.  Located in the center of campus it is the meeting ground for all students.  Pierre Sprinkler & Landscape worked with Barnhart Balfour Beatty to revitalize the campus center.  The plan incorporated lots of grassy areas for the students to lounge on and congregate along with large palms to keep them shaded.

Coming on toward the end of the project, Pierre crews were pressed for time to install all the fresh sod, mobilize and transfer twenty large palms and install all necessary irrigation.  Luckily, the weather was on there side.  Within a matter of weeks, Pierre crews successfully completed the project much to the happiness of Barnhart Balfour Beatty.
