With over 18 years of experience, MTM Construction, Inc specializes in construction and renovation of public buildings and facilities for the government sector. The company, which was established in Los Angeles, CA, has completed projects throughout California.
The 27 acre park recently had more than 80 percent of its property renovated. Partnering with MTM Construction, Pierre completed the landscape and irrigation portion of the project. The beginning of the project began with the demolition of the field on site. After the demo was complete, 478,600 sq ft of soil preparation and hydroseeded turf were installed. Box trees ranging in size were strategically placed and installed around the premises including a 36” Magnolia Grandiflora box tree and several 24” Robinia A. Purple Robe box trees. Various sized shrubs were also installed around and near the parks new pathway which circles around the premises. The Pierre team installed a total of 2,354 shrubs that vary in vibrant colors. The park now includes over 220 Aptenia Cordifolia dirt flats, 140 Carissa Glandiflora, and 1,436 Actostaphylos U. Point Reyes.
The Ted Watkins Park’s renovations were paid by a $6.8 million investment from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. With the renovations complete, the park now includes walking paths, a new skate park, fitness stations, and a new picnic area. A new program called the “Park After Dark Program” has also been added which allows visitors to stay at the park during the evening. Alternative indoor programs are also now offered at the park, including computer classes, and a teen club.
